Get your game on and join the Wilcox Public Library for a summer full of reading and fun!
A summer reading experience for the entire family! Program runs from July 1, 2023 to August 13, 2023. Track your progress on paper this year, preprinted logs are available at the library. Work your way around the game board by completing the tasks listed in each square. To be eligible for prizes, you must complete the number of tasks required, which is listed on the game board for your age group. All of the program events, challenges, etc. are FREE to Jones Township, Elk County, PA (and the surrounding area) residents.
- The squares on the board include reading challenges and non-reading challenges.
- For the reading challenges: any reading counts – books, audiobooks, read-along books, comic books, magazines, you name it!
- Also count when you read aloud to someone else, or someone else reads aloud to you.
- Win prizes when you reach a certain amount of squares completed! Each age group has a different board, therefore you must check the requirements listed on that board.
- Earn raffle tickets towards the Grand Prize Drawings that will be held on August 19, 2023.
Registration for the program
CHILDREN (AGES 3-12)
Children ages 3-12 can register by clicking the image below and filling out and submitting the form, or by stopping in the library and registering in person.
TEENS (AGES 13-17)
Teens ages 13-17 can register by clicking the image below and filling out and submitting the form, or by stopping in to the library and registering in person.
ADULTS (18+)
Adult over the age of 18 can register by clicking the image below and filling out and submitting the form, or by stopping in the library and registering in person.
Weekly Challenges
To add to the fun, each Saturday during the program the library will have “weekly challenges” available for pickup. These challenges include craft kits, S.T.E.M. or S.T.E.A.M. challenges, and more. Each group will have its own challenges, so make sure you grab the right one! Check back every Saturday to see what’s available, the first challenge will be ready on July 8th.
Rules & Regulations
All game boards must include the participant’s name and phone number/email address when dropped off at the library. *Entries must be completed and turned in by 3:00 p.m. on August 12th to be included in the Grand Prize Drawings that will be held on Saturday, August 19th.
*A valid library card (Seneca District Library/Wilcox Public Library) is required for participation. Participants without a card may apply for a library card before receiving their game board to participate. Limit of 1 game board per person, prize winners must be able to pick up prizes in person at the Wilcox Public Library. Drawing prizes must be picked up within 7 (seven) days after notification. Participants are on their honor to read the books and complete challenges and/or tasks before adding them to their game board. Game boards without contact information will be automatically disqualified.
