What is Newspaper Archive?

NewspaperARCHIVE.com, the largest historical newspaper database online, contains tens of millions of newspaper pages from 1607 to present. Every newspaper in the archive is fully searchable by keyword and date, making it easy for you to quickly explore historical content. NewpaperARCHIVE.com provides genealogists, students, historians and other researchers access to millions of newspaper pages.

NewspaperARCHIVE.com continues to add newspaper pages faster than you can search them – with one newspaper page added every second – that’s over 80,000 images a day, or about 2.5 million pages per month!

Designed for any individual of any age or profession, NewspaperARCHIVE.com provides a comfortable and safe environment with easy-to-use tools for fast searching and browsing.

Don’t just take our word for it; take a look at the NewspaperARCHIVE.com. When you’re finished, try the Advanced Search and Browse Available Papers tools to start exploring the world’s history online.

How do I access NewspaperArchive.com?

To get started:
  • visit the Seneca District’s NewspaperARCHIVE link and select the “Add Library Card” button on the lower left
  • Enter your library card credentials
  • Create a free account using your preferred email to be able to:
    1. Save and organize unlimited clippings – Clipping newspaper articles is an easy way to keep track of interesting things you find in your research. Clippings allow users to save only part of a newspaper page for future reference.
    2. Create SAVED SEARCHES – Saved searches is where all your recent searches can be found.
    3. Create an archive of FAVORITE PAGES – Sometimes an entire page is worthy of saving. It’s easy for users to create a favorite page for later viewing by saving it to their “treasure box”.
